For each issue, please provide the following information:Title: Short descriptive title (max 10 words)
Short description: What is this research issue about? How could it be studied? What kinds of approaches, methods, samples and sources of information are needed? (max 200 words)

European relevance and collaboration: Why is the issue particularly suitable for collaborative European research activities? Which European research groups could have a key role in the implementation of this research? (max 150 words)
Positioning w.r.t applied vs. basic research: Is the issue better characterised as basic or applied research?
You are invited to describe a maximum of three research issues, one at a time. Each time, please first click on the relevant sub-area in order to position your theme. If you do not find a suitable sub-area, you may select "other research areas" (the last one). Each time you are also asked to identify yourself, thus you can submit one research issue at a time and return again later to submit other issues as you wish.
